Playing Skittles

Skittles used to be a popular game for adults, even in some pubs.

In this 8mm cine film from the 1950s or 60s, we see a group of men playing skittles at a pub called the ‘Rose and Crown’.

Unfortunatley that’s a really popular name for a pub so it isn’t possible to work out where it was.

As the men play, you’ll notice the dartboard on the wall behind them. Playing darts was, and in some areas still is, a popular pub game.
