On Monday, November 21st 1949, the replica Royal Film Performance took place at Birkenhead’s Ritz Theatre.

This newsreel shows an exterior shot of the theatre, with a couple of shops next door, with crowds of people waiting to see the stars arrive – including Gregory Peck and his wife, who both trip up on the entrance step!
