Suffolk is in the region called East of England, which is below Northern England and above the South East region.

The East of England region was created in 1994 and includes the ceremonial counties of:

Suffolk is also part of a geographic area known as East Anglia, along with the counties of Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

Suffolk borders with Norfolk to the North, Essex to the South, and Cambridgeshire to the west. To the east, the Suffolk Coast consists of 50 miles of heritage coastline and sandy beaches along the North Sea.
