Glimpse history through old images of Tyldesley, in North West England, UK.

Bullock Roasting 1925

When this silent newsreel was made in 1925, it marked Tyldesley’s first communcal bullock roasting for 25 years.

It’s a shame we don’t get to see where this is set or any nearby buildings. But there are lots of people there having a very good time watching the bull roasting and then waiting to be served.

One man seems to have brought two plates with him, while a boy puts his completed sandwich onto a white square, possibly a napkin.
