About Major Oak
Sherwood Forest, famous for its legendary outlaw Robin Hood, is home to Major Oak, an ancient oak tree almost a thousand years old.
The 92 foot (28 metre) branches are so long and heavy, they have to be supported by poles to stop them collapsing!
It was a misty, atmospheric day in late autumn when Mark Bonsall used a drone to capture the historic tree’s size and majesty on film.
