Published 1846 Visit Harrow at a time when it was a small and pretty settlement on the hill, surrounded by woods, fields and meadows, accessible without the threat of highwaymen and robbery thanks to the new railway. His style of writing is somewhat clunky by modern standards, but it's a great personal insight into the things to enjoy in and around Harrow in 1846.
